Samsung has confirmed the launch of its all-new Galaxy M56 5G smartphone soon in India as the successor to Galaxy M55 5G, which debuted in India in April 2024. Samsung has confirmed the launch date and teased the design with some specification details. The upcoming Samsung smartphone is said to be 30% slimmer than the preceding handset. Previously, Galaxy M56 5G was spotted on a popular benchmarking site that indicated features about the chipset, RAM, and operating system.

Samsung Galaxy M56 India Launch

The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G smartphone is set to launch in India on April 17 at 12 pm IST, as confirmed in an X post by the company. It is also claimed that the upcoming 5G Samsung phone is 30% slimmer than the previous models, with a 7.2 mm profile. The previous model, the Galaxy M55 5G, measures 7.8 mm in thickness and weighs around 180g.

A new Amazon microsite for the Samsung Galaxy M56 confirms that the handset will be available on the e-commerce site and be the thinnest smartphone in the segment. The fine print promotional position indicates that the pricing for this phone can range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.

Currently, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB of Galaxy M55 5G are priced at Rs 26,999, Rs 29,999, and Rs 32,999, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy M56 Specification

The handset is confirmed to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, offering 2m fall endurance and 4x better scratch resistance than the previous model. The smartphone will receive a sAMOLED+ screen with 33% more brightness and 36% thinner bezels. However, the CPU details are not unveiled; the phone could be powered by an Exynos 1480 processor (S5E8845), unlike the Exynos 1580 in Galaxy A56 5G.

While the existing M55 5G phone features three distinct circular slots to have rear cameras, the upcoming M56 would get a vertical, raised pill-shaped island. Within the island is a smaller pill-shaped unit to place primary and ultra-wide camera sensors, while the macro shooter is placed below it in a circular slot.

The updated camera design will house a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The smartphone is also teased to offer superior quality night photography. A 12-megapixel front camera sensor will be offered with HDR support. The handset has various AI features like an object eraser and image clipper.

The Samsung M56 5G was recently spotted on Geekbench with the model number SM-M566B. The listing indicates the phone will be powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and Android 15 with One UI skin.
