By the way, this is Xiaomi's own technology, not Power Delivery. The upcoming USB PD standard specifies 50V at 5A for 240W (with some safety margin). Xiaomi instead keeps the voltage low at 20V which is pretty common these days and splits the current into 3 channels of 20V at 3.5A each (thus 70W, but to ensure stable and safe operation Each channel is rated up to 100W) ).
At 67.3 x 64.3 x 30mm, thanks to GaN technology, the charger is also surprisingly small, delivering a staggering 210W. In contrast to other super fast chargers, this charger promises a full 210W power even in countries with a 110V grid. The included 1m (3.3ft) cable is E-marked and is safe to use only with supported chargers (chargers will reject 210W without the E-mark). For other devices, the charger can output 65W via USB PD by default.
Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and Note 12 Explorer share most of the parts with each other, both have the same 6.67 inches AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC.
The camera array is also shared between the two devices, the primary unit is 200 MP supported by 8 MP Utrawide and 2 MP macro units.
The major difference between the two devices in the battery department, the Explorer edition comes with a smaller 4300 mAh battery while the normal Redmi 12 Pro Plus comes with a larger 5000 mAh battery cell.
It is unclear whether Xiaomi will launch the Explorer Edition in India but it is safe to say that the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus will be available in India in the coming months. The price for the Note 12 Pro Plus is expected to be around Rs 25000.
