From its inception App Store has been the only method for iPhone users to search and download, according to Apple, this is done to ensure safety. iOS users will be allowed to download apps from their preferred app shops if the company conforms with EU rules. If the law comes into action users will be in charge of the security of their phones and will need to be cautious about which applications and app stores need to be trusted to download programs.
Apple’s 30% share of any purchases done on the App Store has been a major concern for app developers. Developers may feel some comfort if Apple permits third-party app shops on iPhones and iPads because they won't have to pay as much of a commission as other app stores. In-app purchases, for instance, are apparently free on Samsung's Galaxy Store.
The information provided by the European Union indicates that Apple will have until March 2024 to comply with the ruling. It is rumoured that Apple will put some restrictions in name of security. According to the claimed source, the business might think about "mandating certain security requirements," which essentially means it intends to check third-party apps in some way and charge for them. Apple is yet to make it official.
It would be interesting to observe how Apple attempts to ensure that iOS customers' security is not compromised because this is something the company has long affirmed. In other news, EU has also made it mandatory for smartphones to come with USB-C from 2024.
